Welcome to the 3D Animation Lab web site

(version August 27, 2007)

This page is here to help you get started as a new visitor to the 3D Animation Lab web site. The best place to get started is using the tab at the left called "Learn about the Lab". It will take you to detailed information. Before you go there, here is a very quick summary of what we are about.

The 3D Animation Lab is on the Second Floor of the Main Library building, and open when the library is open.

Take a Library Orientation Tour. The tour will give you a chance to see the Lab and ask questions. Plan to come back after your tour and spend some time in the 3D Animation Lab.

All students, staff and faculty are welcome. Check in at the Public Service Desk right as you go into the Lab. You need an eRaider ID. If you don't have one, go to the Circulation Desk and ask for one. When you check in you can pick up a drawing tablet, headphones or a 3-button mouse. Some of the new handouts there will be of interest to you.

Pick up a Quick Start Guide at the Desk before you go into the 3D Animation Lab.

We have the most popular 3D applications at the 3D Animation Lab. Focus on just one of them to get started. You can learn others later. We recommend trueSpace to those who are new to 3D software and want to learn modeling, rendering and animation.
